Today marks the day we finally move into our new home. If you read my post about being 'between homes', you'll know it's been a long time coming.

The house purchase completed on Tuesday, and we picked up the keys as soon as we got the call from our solicitors telling us it had all gone through. We've spent the last two days cleaning and scrubbing the house in readiness for today. We've got a man with a van booked, and managed to track down the key for our storage unit in the Big Yellow Storage company. I am ridiculously excited to see our belongings again after six, long months. It may just be 'stuff', and not essential for day to day life (or happiness), and it's a little bit consumerist, but it's my stuff - and I've missed it. 

My father in law is coming down to help us with the move as well. Fingers crossed, providing everything goes to plan, we'll be spending our first night there tonight. And it will start becoming our home!

Internet access is set to be sporadic, but I hope to get some before, after and progress photos up of the house as and when I can.

A round up of what I've been up to this March.


I've managed to get a bit more balance with work this month. Yes, there have been late nights (lots), but there's also been plenty of days I've left at half five on the dot. I'm pleased I'm making progress on my goal to leave work by 6pm each night. In part this has been helped to signing up for a month taster membership to my local authority gym. Knowing I'm signed up to a class has helped forced me leave my desk more or less on time. Result!


Upping my exercise has had a direct correlation with an improvement in my sleep. I've actually had a few nights sleeping right through...unheard of! This month on my Netflix my attention has been drawn to Chuck. Just the wrong side of stupid - the perfect way to unwind from work.

This month I've played catch up with the 52 lists project after missing so much in February. Another great benefit of leaving work at a decent hour...I have time for fun projects like this one!

I've been surprised at how much I've enjoyed the trial membership at my local gym. I've been swimming a couple of times a week, plus taken part in at least one yoga or pilates at least once a week. Back when we were living in Bristol I used to go to pilates two or three times a week and loved it, but got out of the habit (plus couldn't find a decent teacher) since we moved over to Bath. Even in such a short amount of time I've seen a huge improvement to my lower back pain. My swimming class has sadly finished, but I'm intending on signing up for another 10 week course. 

Finally, I've also been loving the turn in good weather (read: not torrential rain or record breaking gusts of wind), and spent a lot of time outside exploring Bath and Pensford.


It's been a long time coming, but we finally exchanged on our new house! I've been slowly getting more and more excited throughout the month, and my Pinterest activity has certainly increased while I look for decor inspiration! We are due to complete tomorrow on 1st April (fingers crossed no April Fool's...). All I can say is be prepared for lots of home shots as I am stupidly excited!!
